Aggra did not take Thrall's desire to learn seriously and warned him he would soon need to choose between being a shaman or being the Warchief of the Horde. Despite this rocky start, Thrall became more in tune with the elements and with himself. The pair began to grow close, and eventually fell in love.

Before returning to Azeroth, Thrall and Aggra became mates. They returned to Azeroth in time to participate in Cairne Bloodhoof 's funeral. The pair left Thunder Bluff and traveled to Ratchet , where Gazlowe prepared a ship, Draka's Fury , to take them to the Maelstrom sailing under the colors of the Horde. Near the Lost Isles , naval vessels of the Alliance attacked the Horde's ships. The Alliance sank the vessels, and the nearby ship of the Bilgewater Cartel.

Aggra took command of the survivors of Draka's Fury , leading them to the Lost Isles. Here, the battle against the Alliance continued full force. In the desperation of things, help arrived: goblin adventurers from the Bilgewater Cartel joined the fight against the Alliance.
