Why tongans and samoans dont get along

Tonga is like a big brother to us Usos. They were just waiting for the day we put our big boy pants on to take our island back. Warrior's life. There's no shame here. Only the testament to our bloodlines as a Toa,for both island nations. Who the hell cares!!

Samoa and Tonga have a beautiful history with a lot of good and bad. We can debate all day and all that does is create more hatred. Whether you like it or not, of all the groups in the south pacific, we are more identical in everything compared to other south pacific nations. Nobody knows for sure what happened in the past. We have some truths, but mostly speculations. Tongans and Samoans believe in Jesus Christ and God.

We also believe that we will live with them again someday after this life. I promise you, you will have a chance to ask him all your questions, and he will gladly answer them, and you will have a better understanding of things. Until then, love one another.

Someone mentioned in this thread that when the tsunamis hit the islands, Samoa reached out to help Tonga even during its own time of need. I'm sure there have been instances where Tonga has helped Samoa. Anyway you look at it, you cannot deny the love we have for each other. The hatred I see now days stem from gangs. I'm Samoan, but my best friends in college, whom I still am in contact with to this day, are Tongans. We played college ball together. We ate together, laughed together, made fun of each other and each other's culture together, partied together, struggled together, and we came out the best of friends.

I know I could never have made it through some tough times back then without all the usos and tokos that were there with me and shared in my struggle. In fact, one of my tokos is who brought me back to God and I will always love him for that. Tongans went to Samoa to keep their bloodline Polynesian.

But instead passed on Negro African traits. So we kicked them out. Now, Samoa, Toga and Fiji are busting the world at large in sports folks. Yep throw in racial slurs about white people for a change! My step dad is Tongan and my Husband SamoanI have three beautiful biracial children! So I have a special place in my heart for the Polynesian people. You guys throwing in the reverse racial slurs, you r better than that! No one culture or colour of a persons skin is better than the other.

All human beings no matter who they are in the world have done terrible things to one another. Time to make a change and stop the hate! Profile: The name of the excerpt from pasefiaka website is Tui Tonga. It is a shorten summary of the history of tui tonga and stems from scholarly references:References: St.

Cartmail, Keith. Tala o le Vavau. Auckland: Pasifika Press, Tala o le Vavau. Pacific Island Legend by William Flood. He gives a general overview of various pacific legends including the legends of Tui Manua and Tui Tonga. An Account of Samoan History since All these sources go in depth and explain the orgins of how the relationship between Tonga and Samoa actually began and how it was shaped over the the course of history.

They stem from scholarly references, so we know that the information reported has a solid credential background. The book by Te'o Tuvale more specifically gives a thorough description of the origins of the legends of Samoa and how tonga plays a role in the samoan culture. The King of Tonga was searching for his brother who had fled from Tonga to escape the engeance [sic] of the King for having committed adultery with the King's wife and during this search he discovered Samoa.

The King was so impressed with the Islands that on his return to Tonga still in search of his brother, he planned the war against Samoa.

Under his rule, they captured and enslaved the samoan people for nearly years. During this reign, Tui Tonga would have as he pleased whatever Samoan woman he pleased. By A. D, the Malietoa family mounted a counterattack against the Tongans in hopes of gaining their freedom. Tuna and Fata were appointed to operate in the back country and Ulumasui and Tupuloa were put in charge of the Aana district. A dance was given on the malae by the Samoans for the Tongans. That day was called Matamatame. All districts alike chased the Tongans.

Tuna and Fata kept to the back country and Ulumasui and Tupuola to the Aana district. The Samoans met at Mulifanua and drove the Tongans into the sea where their fleet was anchored. At this juncture Talaaifei'i, the King of Tonga, made the following speech: Malietoa, Malietau - ""Ua Malie Toa, Malie Tau Ou te le toe sau i le auliuli tau, a o le auliuli folau O le a le toe sii mai se taua e Toga i Samoa; well fought let us give over this business of war and remember this - I will not again come to Samoa except to pay a friendly visit.

This incident was the commencement of the Malietoa" This is where the first king of Samoa sprung from, which became known as Malietoa or Tui Manua. Although we see in history that the treaty of peace made between these two islands was simply trough the word of mouth, it has been honored through centuries.

However somewhere down the line, and may I see, because of the lack of historical knowledge and simple ignorances, samoans and tongans began a war that ended and was sealed longgg before.

So from history, I can say that the present war between these two countries is based on false and faulty ground. Resentment or disagreement from the past, lack of thorough knowledge of both histories is not a sound-enough reason for Tongans and Samaons especially in California to hate each other. Samoan Tattoo « Anesthetic Cream. In ancient times the Samoans had a ruler over each District and although he was called a King he was not in control of the whole of the Islands. It was during this time that the Tongans came to and gained the mastery of Samoa. Their leader was the King of Tonga who was named Talaaifeii Tuitoga.

He came with a strong force and settled at Safotu in Savai'i. He sent instructions throughout Samoa that the Samoans must build him a stone road round a cape named Matauea on the eastern side of Safotu. The Samoans obeyed the instruction and during the making of the road the builders cane across a huge boulder which hindered the work. Talaaifeii had noted the energy of two brothers named Tuna and Fata and he conmanded them to remove the stone or forfeit their lives.

They undertook to remove the stone although it seemed to be an impossible task. They first of all visited their family in Upolu and returned to Savai'i with a nephew named Ulumasui who would assist them in the task.

Ulumasiu lived in Falelatai and he landed at Matautu with his uncles when he accompanied them to Savai'i. From Matautu they walked to Safotu and on the way Ulumasui went to a swamp at the back of Manase and caught two eels which he placed with some mud under the stone blocking the road. He then went to the reef and caught an octopus and placee this also under the stone together with some salt water. The eels and the octopus burrowed under the stone and ultimately overturned it.

Ulumasui and Fata and Tuna then rolled the stone out of the way to a spot indicated by the Tongan King. This stone may still be seen today. The two brothers and Ulumasui now returned to their homes in Upolu. Shortly after this the King of Tonga paid a visit to Upolu with his followers. They landed at Sagafili, Aana District, a and left their boat anchored. When Fata and Tuna noticed the anchored and empty boat they swam out and took away the pole by which it was anchored.

This pole was made of the wood of the Toa tree and Fata and Tuna made two fighting clubs out of it when they returned to their hom-es at Falelatai. The place where the boys carved these clubs is still known as Asotof. When the clubs were finished the boys journed further along the coast testing the clubs. The spot where they tested them was and is still called Aso Alaala testing day.

When the boys page break returned to their home and hung up their clubs the people crowded round to look at the weapons. The idea behind the actions of Tuna and Fata was the winning back for Samoa the control of their own country.
